An Easter-themed service was held at the Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on April 11, 2021, with participation by the children who attend the Ukrainian and Sunday School of the church.
The service was started by the pastor of the church, Rev. Viktor Shchypailo, who welcomed all those present who came to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Then the church choir glorified the Lord with majestic singing under the direction of Sister Oksana Purshaha. More than a hundred people united in praise and worship with the children during this opportunity not only to glorify Christ, but also to hear the good news that death has been defeated forever! At the conclusion of the worship, a prayer of blessing was presented over the children of the newly formed Ukrainian and Sunday School, as well as on its teachers: Maria Mykytyuk, Luda Kovalchuk and Tanya Shlyakhuta. The prayers were offered by three pastors: Viktor Shchypailo, Leonid Bliznyuk and Dmytro Login.
Children from the First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church of Philadelphia also took part in the festive service, supplementing the joint worship with poems, songs and instrumental numbers to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. After the closing prayer of thanksgiving offered by Pastor Leonid Bliznyuk, the children and adults had a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fellowship with each other during a meal prepared lovingly by the sisters of the church. A few hours later, everyone left for their homes with joy in their hearts and with the hope of meeting again soon.
